If you’ve read Our Story, you know that the core group Winged Pen members met at WriteOnCon in 2014, so we’re thrilled to announce that 2 of our members, Halli Gomez and me, will be speaking at the conference this year!
What is WriteOnCon? It’s an online kidlit writing conference. In 2014, it was focused on posting the query and/or first pages of your middle grade or young adult novel and exchanging critiques with others who write in the same category.
In recent years, Seabrooke Leckie and her team have expanded the conference to cover picture book critiques and also to include live workshops, vlog presentations, blogs on writing craft and opportunities to pitch your stories to agents…basically everything you can do at an in-person writing conference except that you can participate in WriteOnCon from the comfort of your own home wearing your bathrobe and slippers and it costs much less to attend.
WriteOnCon will be held February 21st-23rd, 2020, so mark your calendar now! I’m very excited about this year’s speakers. You can find the full list here. The conference schedule with the topics everyone will speak on is forthcoming.
Are you excited!?!
If you’d like to know more, I wrote a post on getting ready for WriteOnCon 2018.
I’d like to end this post with a huge thanks to Seabrooke and her team for organizing this amazing event!
