I don’t know about you, but I’m on my way to rocking the quarantine fifteen, and before this is over, I’ll have passed the quaranineteen. And as I plop myself down at my desk every morning, I’m realizing that it’s just as important to feed our minds as it is our bodies.
Unfortunately, that can’t be solved with a pound of chocolate.
I’ve heard from friends, and definitely feel myself, that productivity is a struggle right now. For my writer friends, add on a lack of creativity and you’re pretty much at a brain power standstill. We are so focused on the world, the virus, and the scary, uncertain future, it seems impossible to dive into any other reality. Especially if it’s light, romantic, or humorous.
Because we are all in this together, we would like to help feed your mind by giving you a quarantine creativity boost. We’ll start small with this prompt.
Write the final image of your book. Who is there? What are they doing? Where are they? Make it sensory.
You don’t have to write an entire scene. Just one image. A few sentences. Visualize it, write it, then share it with us. Send your words in an email to info@thewingedpen.com. We’d love to highlight your words with the writing community so be sure to let us know if you are willing to have it on a post in the future. It’s okay if you don’t, but remember, creativity can be contagious and that the kind of virus we want right now.
